Ultimate Thailand Explorers

Darren and I landed at the new Suvarnabhumi airport in Bangkok at 6:30am. We walked outside to the taxi, and felt the heat. Then it hit us. We were in Thailand!

Our next few days were spent searching Bangkok and beyond. We lost ourselves for 3 hours at a spa. We marvelled at the architecture of The Grand Palace .We ate soup while floating through the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market .We made merit with monks. And since we managed to time our trip with Songkran, we got wet. We got VERY wet.

Our trip took us to places we never imagined we'd see in person. We sped down the River Kwai ,famous bridge behind us, in a long tail boat to a monkey school. We tasted the infamous Durian fruit while standing in the same spot as James Bond in the Man With The Golden Gun .And we forgot the rest of the world existed on the most perfect beach in Phuket .

Since we've returned home, our lives have continued. We got new jobs. We moved cities. But we never stopped thinking of Thailand. And one day, we found the most perfect contest ever. The Ultimate Thailand Explorers.

The contest aims to promote tourism in Thailand through social media- just like the one you are using now! Darren and I are hoping to be sent to Chiang Mai - where we will spend a week promoting everything from elephant trekking to perfect bargaining at the Warorot Royal Market .
