Travel to Chiang Mai

Hi

I live in Bangkok and would like to know how is it to travel to Chiang Mai by train (or bus)?.

I am looking for a comfortable train ride to Chaing Mai (with Air Con). How long does it take by train?.

Travelling by air is just too expensive. Thank you.

Hi Patrick

Many thanks for your visit to our website & subsequent questions.

I agree with you that air travel is expensive but at just over an hours flight it is great if time is important to you when you travel to Chiang Mai !.

Of the other main alternatives, personally I would recommend the train journey Bangkok - Chiang Mai as you actually get to see some of the countryside rather than just stuck on boring motorways for 10-12 hours!.
