Sunday Walking Street Market

by Dan Rogers
(Hong Kong)

Chiang Mai Sunday walking street market

Chiang Mai Sunday walking street market

If you are visiting Chiang Mai, forget the more well known Night Bazaar & head on over to the Sunday Walking Street Market!.

Although a lot of emphasis has been placed on the Night Bazaar, to me the, the Sunday Walking Street Market was the highlight of my entire trip to Chiang Mai. The stalls here are more organized and things are cheaper than those sold at the Night Bazaar.

Everything and anything can be bought here. Food, clothes, shoes, accessories, house decoratives to name a few. The market is only on each Sunday & opens after 4pm.

Be sure to go early to avoid the night crowd which would make walking and browsing more difficult as it's such a popular place to visit.

There are masses of Thai Street Food stalls the smells from the stalls immediately makes you feel hungry, it's great food & soooo cheap!.

Be sure to look out for a lady peddlar selling fried crispy seaweeds with wasabi and paprika flavours. Really delicious tidbits and good to go with a can of cold beer.

I left the market 4 hours later and a few hundred dollars lighter. But truly a satisfied shopper..
