Hi!

I am going to be in South East Asia and want to make sure I am in Thailand for the Loy Krathong celebration.

I specifically want to see the Yi Peng lanterns at Chiang Mai/Maejo. Can you tell me what date the lantern release will be? Thank you, Karen

You really need to be in Chiang Mai for both the 1st & 2nd November, there are a host of different activities taking place including both the traditional "Loy Krathong" celebrations & the "Khom Loys" (paper hot air floating lanterns),the traditional release of the lanterns ties in with the 1st full moon night of the 12th Lunar Month which is 1st November.
