Anyone FOUR Golf !

Anyone FOUR Golf !

Thailand is not only known for its stunning beaches, super bargain shopping, ancient culture, great Thai Street Food & Thai Beer !.

It is also fast becoming the Golfing Capital of Asia for, believe it or not, there are already more than 200 golf courses in Thailand, and many more in the pipeline!.

If you are somewhere in the Andaman Sea area lazing around one of the beautiful beaches of Phuket ,Krabi or maybe even Phi Phi Island, there’s a couple of great golf courses, one at the Blue Canyon Country Club and the other at Mission Hills Golf Resort.

If you are way up north enjoying the cool mountain air of Chiang Mai, there’s a good choice of Golf Courses that you can choose from, each one presenting different levels difficulty & challenges!.

Are you planning a holiday in Bangkok? If you are a golf enthusiast why not include a golfing jaunt too. Located in Bangkok is the Bangkok Golf Club that boasts of its waterfall hole, the only one in Asia. What about Thana City Golf Club ?.The course here is one of the few Asian courses designed by the great Aussie legend Greg Norman & it is claimed that this is THE most difficult course in the whole of Thailand!.

Go to any popular (and not so popular) place in Thailand and chances are that you are always within “driving range” of a Golf course!.

Golf is not a new sport in Thailand. When the Royal Family built its summer palace in Huan Hin in the early 20th century, a Scotsman named O.A. Robins designed an 18-hole golf course there for the exclusive use of the Royalties and the upper echelon of Thai society.

Infact the Royal Hua Hin Golf Club was the very first golf course to be established in the whole of Thailand. Today by comparison, there are 8 courses JUST within a 30 kilometer(18 miles) radius of the city of Hua Hin and plans of more courses are underway!.

One of the big attractions of a golf holiday in Thailand is the fact that the charges for green fees, golf carts, and caddy fees are MUCH cheaper than you will pay at home, even during the busier high season.

Another interesting fact is that all of the caddies are females. No males please!. The lady caddies are well-versed in the rudiments of golfing. They could give you insider tips about the curve of a seemingly straight course. They could advice you on what iron or wood to use for a certain hole. If you want to know how to get through a course knowledgeably, you can ask your lady caddy!.

The golf courses in Thailand were designed by leading international golf course experts. Most courses were from the drawing boards of: Nick Faldo, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, Robert Trend Jones, and the legendaryArnold Palmer.

If you are with your “non-golfing” family, then the recreation and entertainment facilities integrated with the country clubs of the golf courses would surely be more than enough to keep your family occupied while you work on your professional golf career.

Most golf courses also have driving ranges attached to them with golf pro’s all ready to coach newbies and maybe share some tips for you to further hone your skill.
