Budget London Hotels

Hotels in the centre of London can be very expensive, but there are some good deals on accommodation to be found if you know where to look. Here are my recommendations for the best budget London hotels.

Huttons Hotel

This hotel is 5 minutes walk from Victoria tube station, which is in the central Zone 1 of the London Underground system. It's an attractive area and the hotel is in a pretty Georgian building.

The bedrooms have en suite shower rooms and television sets. They are quite compact and basic given that this is a 2 star hotel, but it gets good guest ratings, and at about £55 a night, you can't go wrong.

Travelodge London Farringdon

This is a 3 star hotel in the King's Cross area of London. It's close to tourist attractions like the British Library and Sadlers Wells. It has a bar and café serving food and alcohol, and you can connect to the internet via WiFi. Past guests rate it highly and you can find a room for under £70, so it's a good option if money is tight.

Alexandra Hotel

This hotel also has prices of about £70 a night. It's located just a few minutes walk from Hyde Park, a vast green space that is perfect for walks and picnics on a sunny day.

The rooms all have a full bathroom and a satellite TV. It's a medium sized 2 star hotel with 96 guest rooms. It has received good feedback from guests.

Days Hotel Waterloo

This hotel is south of the river but still fairly central. It's located within walking distance of Waterloo Station and the London Eye and it's across the road from the Imperial War Museum.

It's a 3 star hotel which has been given good guest ratings. All the bedrooms have a satellite TV and a bathroom with power shower. The hotel has a restaurant and a small bar. A room will cost about £75 per night.
